Job Description

Summary:

Ruwacon requires the services of a Junior Civil Engineer / Construction Manager on a civil project in Springbok, Northern Cape.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and monitor production targets and work progress.

• Appoint and manage subcontractors.

• Plan, order and control material and equipment

• Plan, order and control plant and equipment

• Measure completed work for payment certificates and compile payment certificates for approval from the engineer.

• Keep accurate records of backup documents of approved certificates.

• Cost control – daily and weekly costing and submission of monthly cost reports

• Lead regular site meetings - health and safety meetings and meetings with various technical experts like surveyors.

• Manage and update relevant site administrative duties.

• Maintain a high level of safety and adherence to all safety policies and procedures of Ruwacon as well as any additional requirements from the client.

• Ensure that quality standards / ISO standards are met and the necessary policies and procedures are implemented.

• Ensure the timely completion of the contract on a cost-efficient and profitable basis.
