The works comprises of refurbishment of five University owned student residences at the Durban University of Technology in Durban. Four residences entail minor works whilst one has major external and internal renovations to be carried out.
There is no Architect, Electrical or Mechanical Engineer appointed; and thus, many challenges arise in delays of specification approvals etc. However, in the major residence to be refurbished (Berea Residence) we have taken the initiative of constructing a “Showroom” with guidance from the user client.
This approach of being proactive and taking these initiatives is welcomed by the client; and many
approvals have since been granted, accordingly.
