Ruwacon actively supports Cheetah Kidz. This initiative offers children from previously disadvantaged communities in Bloemfontein the opportunity to take part in programs where they are taught the basic rugby and life skills in an effort to identify and develop talent amongst these children.
Child Welfare in Bloemfontein was in desperate need for a satellite office in Rocklands in Bloemfontein since many of the children in need of care and assistance live in this area. Ruwacon, together with a number of sub contractors assisted by donating containers that were renovated and converted to office space to provide Child Welfare with much needed offices to work from.
True to Ruwacon’s belief, we continue restoring buildings as well as building the surrounding communities. The company embarked on a project to upgrade the facilities of two local schools in Bloemfontein, Tswellang Special School and Ihobe Primary School. Tswellang is a school for learners with severe physical disabilities coming from previously disadvantaged communities across the Free State. Several classrooms at Tswellang were renovated and the bathroom facilities were upgraded in an effort to improve the educational environment of these learners. The roof of Ihobe Primary School was repaired and the existing building repainted.
Jean Webber Home in Bloemfontein is a facility for disabled and marginalized people such as those affected by HIV / AIDS. Some of residents of this home are completely dependant on the care and assistance of the staff at Jean Webber Home as many of them do not have the favourable support of their families. The home is therefore under severe financial strain in an effort to care for the extensive needs of these residents. Ruwacon donated generously to this cause in an effort to assist the Jean Webber management to continue with their selfless task of providing in the every need of these residents.
