history of ruwacon
The origins of the present company dates back to 1999 when Ruwa-Con was formed by Pieter Ruthven. Subsequently the then closed corporation was converted into a company resulting in the name being changed to Ruwacon in 2003.
In May 2010, Ruwacon successfully reformed its shareholding to become one of the few 9GB construction firms in South Africa that is 51% black owned. Today the company has an annual turnover in excess of R 400 million, employs a workforce of approximately 1200 workers and is engaged on more than 70 active sites across Southern Africa.
